Born at the beginning of May, this batch of Kolbroek piglets are now 4 weeks old.
Another 4 weeks and then we’ll wean them and send them on to their forever homes.
Over the last 5 years at #wickedfoodearth Farm we’ve been carefully selecting the best genetics available.
From our present sows we’re averaging 8 piglets per farrowing.
Average weight gain during the first 8 weeks is 130g per day which works out to over 7 kg in the first 8 weeks.
They are well suited to grassing and survive on minimal supplement feed.
